Delphi launches Delphi School of Logistics and Supply Chain Management

In the prevailing Business Environment in India, total logistics costs as a percentage of GDP, are estimated to be between 13 and 20%, in comparison to other developed countries, with estimates of logistics costs between 6-10% of GDP. The relative high costs associated with logistics, combined with the opportunity for market growth, create significant opportunities for logistics service providers operating in India.

However, poor training and lack of qualified and experienced resources continue to be a primary challenge facing the development of the logistics and transportation industry in India today, and presumably for some time to come.
As a result, people training and development in this sector continues to play an important role in these organizations’ ability to create and maintain a competitive advantage.

Hence, the intention of Delphi Computech is to unleash their above vision by starting their own Professional Educational Institution known as “Delphi School of Logistics & Supply Chain Management (DSLSCM)”.

DSLSCM shall offer a variety of Academic, Corporate and Vocational courses in various delivery formats. The initiatives in this direction are intended to start in early 2013, in collaboration with several leading Universities and organizations in India.

In order to cater to the working class executives and other students who are located in different parts of India, initially the course will be conducted as “Virtual Class” using Video Conferencing facilities already available in most of the major cities in India.

In addition, Delphi School of Logistics and Supply Chain Management will also be conducting In-house / Open Corporate Training Programs and Short Term Certification Courses, with a blend of academic and industry specific applications. International affiliations are being evaluated to bring in World Class Standards into the various programs.

The boards of DSLSCM will consist of prominent international practicing professionals and CXO level dignitaries.  DSLSCM will be headed by Prof. P. J. Mathews, CMILT. His profile can be seen at www.linkedin.com/in/pjmathews1947.
